Instant Jalebi

Jalebi holds a special place among all Indian Sweets, Isn’t it?

This Quarantine is making me crave for Jalebi a lot. Crispy, flavorful and juicy Jalebi make my mouth all watery. This lockdown is making me so bore and cravings for Jalebi was hitting another level. I have not eaten jalebis since January and now things have just got out of control and I cannot wait more.

So we made this Instant Jalebi so quick that you would never thought it to be true.


Ingredients

  1. 1 cup Maida

  2. 1/4 cup sour curd

  3. 1 tsp baking soda

  4. Saffron few Strands

  5. Water as required

  6. 200 gm Sugar

  7. 100 ml Water + as required

Method

  1. Add sugar and 100 ml Water to a pan and make a single string sugar syrup.

  2. Add few strands of saffron to sugar syrup. keep aside.

  3. Mix flour, curd, baking powder, few strands saffron together with water using a whisk, there should not be any lumps and batter should be thick.

  4. Fill in a piping bag.

  5. Deep fry until golden and crisp, in medium hot oil. Keep flame to low

  6. Dip hot jalebis in sugar syrup until they soak the syrup.

  7. Take out on a plate, garnish with some Shredded Dry Fruits and serve Hot.
